- The Arctic seasonal ice melt continues to shatter records! Global warming is a science experiment on the global scale. Right now we are seeing what happens when you increase pollutants in the atmosphere that heat and disrupt the natural processes of the planet. Some places will see more extreme droughts at a greater frequency and hopefully we can use the visibility of climate change events to further the cause for a healthy environment.
- Do you trust Shell to drill for oil in an increasingly melted Arctic? BP did such a bad job with the environment of the Gulf of Mexico that they are selling off billions of dollars of assets in the Gulf to pay for the fines and lawsuits. Shell would face a similar fate if they spilled in the pristine Arctic. Editor update: Shell has just announced it will halt all exploratory drilling for the remainder of 2012
- Those pesky Koch brothers are twisting the Democratic process to the favor of their businesses at the cost of the tax-payers and our environment. And the Koch brothers want to elect Romney, who would dismantle government support for renewable energy thus leaving the government-subsidized dirty energy companies to rule the market and ruin our environment.
- When companies finally decide to go with sustainable energy their impact can be huge – and it makes our products more sustainable. The top two users of Solar energy in the US are Walmart and Cosco.
- French politicians are struggling with how France’s dependency on nuclear energy. And Japan is getting out of the nuclear game entirely by 2040.
- Chemical plants in the US are not as safe as we need them to be – no joke or exaggeration. This is a case where we need the federal government to protect us against companies that have repeatedly hurt people living nears chemical plants. Recently people in the Bay Area of California were asked to stay indoors after a part of a Chevron refinery exploded.
