2007: Second Warmest Year on Record – Welcome to the “Anthropocene”

Data released yesterday from the Earth Policy Institute indicate that the year just passed was the second warmest on record, with northern latitudes actually reaching record average temperatures (and record Arctic ice melt).

Some say that 2007 marks entry into a new geological epoch known as the “Anthropocene”.
