World Bank Grants $1.3 Billion Loan to Support Environment, Sustainable Resource Use in Brazil

The World Bank Group has approved a $1.3 billion development loan facility to support Brazilian efforts to combat deforestation, foster sustainable resource use and stronger, integrated environmental and resource management, one that it hopes can serve as a model for other resource-rich nations threatened by environmental degradation and export-driven natural resource development.
