T. Boone Pickens at the The National Clean Energy Summit 2.0

The Clean Energy Summit 2.0 met last week in Las Vegas. First held last year the event is sponsored by Senate majority leader Harry Reid and the Center for American Progress Action Fund, and seeks to bring together preeminent leaders in business, government, science, and advocacy to brainstorm policy geared toward creating a new energy economy.  One of those leaders was T. Boone Pickens, the former oil tycoon who in recent years has promoted his Pickens Plan as a way to wean the country off foreign oil. Largely a non-partisan approach, the plan looks to the benefits of wind energy and efficiency while promoting the utilization of the nation’s abundant supply of natural gas as a bridge fuel for the nation’s transportation fleet (focusing primarily on 18-wheel trucks).

This video shows the event from Pickens’ point of view. See other videos from the Clean Energy Summit for an overall picture of the proceedings.
