Standby Not Good for the Climate

A recent post at TechDigest explains how leaving computers and other modern electronics in “standby” mode, or just left connected to a building AC supply, can consume significant amounts of electricity. Read the full report here.

We’re going to start making sure all our computers, modems and other gear is connected to an AC power bar with a convenient switch to turn off when not in use. Every little bit helps.
