Tell your Senator to remove drilling in the Refuge from the budget
A Medium post published by the Wilderness Society lays out the new threats facing the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Congress is set to vote this month on a provision in the proposed budget allowing drilling activity in the refuge.
The last refuge
The Arctic is already one of the most stressed ecosystems on the globe.
Pruitt ushers in mining operations in Bristol Bay, home to the most productive salmon fishery left on Earth. Congress slips into the federal budget oil drilling in the Arctic Refuge, despite decades of resistance from a majority of Americans.
Instead, we are sucked into (faux) outrage over whether a football player stands or kneels during the National Anthem.
Trump, if he has any ideology at all, is short-sighted, small-minded, transitory. Are we willing to foreclose the Arctic in his name?
It makes no sense to me.
Call your representative. Tell them whatever you believe, but at least let them know you give a damn.
