It’s an apocalyptic thought, but if humans continue to use fossil fuels as their primary fuel source while adding billions more humans then we will find a breaking point.
- With the summer heat the majority of Americans now believe that Global Warming Is Real.
- With climate change comes a threat to food supply and increased prices.
- Apathy is the primary response to climate change for many Americans (especially Gen Xers apparently), just wait for the multi-year flood, drought, food shortage, etc.
- Anjela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany, supports a global agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- If you are in the lower 99% of income earners in the US then you just got screwed again by the US Ag bill.
- Climate change affects the most vulnerable first, in America that includes Native Americans in Alaska and corn farmers in the Mid-West.
- China Greenpeace put out the idea years ago that if China became a big exporter of solar modules then one day they might start installing the modules at home, resulting in a big win for Environmentalism. That is now happening.
- Have you ever seen a company’s PR team have a public argument with a US Senator? Well, Senator Frank Lautenberg from New Jersey spoke on the floor recently about the Koch brothers subverting the Democratic process by using secret money to influence elections. Koch industries then had a mini campaign to clear their name but, to me, it just made them seem more nefarious.
- Shell Oil is being hit hard right now by a fake ad campaign created by The Yes Men and Greenpeace.
- Chevron is moving into Kurdistan, Iraq. Finally.
- BPs Gulf ad campaign is kinda weird and its rubbing people the wrong way.
- Oil prices are up; it’s a mix of politics, supply, war and demand.
- General Electric is on the natural gas bandwagon and thinks that at-home natural gas refill stations are the next frontier. Natural Gas vehicles are like Atari and will last about as long, if at all.
- The Cape Wind project was allegedly approved without addressing all of the land-use issues.
- Not all ecosystems are in decline. Humans have figured out how to sustain at least one fishery.
