Texans rally to stop coal-fired power plants
13 Feb 2007 at 11:02am
Some 1,000 fired-up citizens gathered at the Texas Capitol on Sunday to oppose proposals for up to 18 new coal-fired power plants in the state. The protest, organized by about 40 environmental and health groups, attracted greens, businessfolk, and people who like breathing. Much ire has been focused on energy …

Green jobs are all the rage these days, so why are you still unemployed?
13 Feb 2007 at 11:02am
“If the green job market is so hot,” asks one frustrated jobseeker, “why can’t I find a job?” Could columnist Kevin Doyle of the Environmental Careers Organization have been wrong about his assertion that environmental careers are on the rise? Doyle lets the crestfallen applicant down gently, stands by his …

Faced with contaminated food, Chinese shoppers pony up for organics
13 Feb 2007 at 11:02am
Got a hankering for lard made from sewage and industrial oil? Look no further than the mean streets of China’s cities. Such “fake food,” along with real food contaminated by pollution and pesticides, is showing up on shelves — and turning the stomachs of urban denizens. As a result, according …

Research shows carbon dioxide sinks deeper into oceans than estimated
13 Feb 2007 at 11:02am
Researchers have long known that the world’s oceans absorb some of the excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It’s a boon and a bane, helping to stem the tide of climate change while causing acidification that hurts Nemo and friends. But new research shows that carbon is going deeper than …

M.B.A. students increasingly required to take courses in sustainability
13 Feb 2007 at 11:02am
We can’t say finance, accounting, and marketing get our rocks off, but we’re jazzed about a growing trend: 54 percent of U.S. business schools require students to take a class in sustainability or corporate social responsibility, a jump of 20 percent since 2001. At MIT’s Sloan School of Management, one …

  1. hello -  due to the increased heating a lot of ice is melting. Some people may not be aware that the interaction between man and his enviroment is the cause of most of his malidies, including global warming. If you study disease creation, you will realize that it is the exposure of certain elements of nature to unatural enviroments that causes mutations in basic cellular structure of plant life wich then becomes the roots for all sorts of disease, due to the chain of life witch multiplies the effects and toxicity of the new structured elemental or fundemental priciples of disease. what people fail to realize about global warming is that mircrobreal organisms or cellular structure of basic cellulose have not been exposed to the inviroment for the past fiffteen -thousand years.
what this implies is that global warming could start whole new pandemics which would make aids look like a commen cold.

  2. I submited accidently, let me continue. So the very probabilty for new and varacious pandemics is highly probabal, due to the fact that the earth is heating and exposeing itself at an incresed rate. Now that is a whole new factor to consider for the survival of species. We are already seeing the effects of global warming and it’s relationship to disease in the form of “sars”, in the form of ‘the bird flu”, there all sorts of variations of disesase arising the latter part of this century, at unprecidented rates!

It is a fact that due to the (ten – twelve degree temperature variations) which are propagating the disease-carrying species of insects called mosquitoes, that carribu are changing there migritory patterns, dying, and disrupting the life of native americans right here in north america!

We know that certain species of incects carry and transport disease, but thats just the tip of the iceberg! Now the fact is that we need a technology that has the possibilty of extracting carbon out of the atmosphere is a dire necessity for (wo)mans survival. Now the technology is here through the carbon collecting machine called vacuum drone. There is only a certain window of oppurtunity the world body has before this procces of global warming becomes iriversible.

Now in order for the Flying Fishes to be effective, all the major carbon burning zones must adopt them. In order for Fling Fishes (vacuum drones)to be effective all burning of carbon must be done in and around the Fishes orbital patterns. I now the powers of this world might be sceptical about this, but there is little or no effect upon it major revenues which are the sale of oil. The fact is that cars have not been able to adopt electrical batteries because there simply has not been enough demand for them, since the making of theses batteries involve the burning of carbon ,the mass of demand would equal the mass of the market revenues. now these batteries can be shipped outside of the “carbon containment zones “to the non-local areas where coupuled with bio- diseal will make fine reliable running automobiles. Since most burning of gasoline is done in major carbon burning areas. It will make it easy to control the “non- local” carbon emissions. but there is still the problem of the “rouge carbon” masses that will be left floating in our atmosphere! Some might get caught up in various massive deluges, but there will still be some remaining! now we still have another heating factor which is meahtane which I am working on presently . Thank you and have a good day
